The Endoscopic Brow Lift

The modern gold standard. Dr. Gandhi makes 3 to 5 tiny, half-inch incisions hidden entirely behind the hairline. A micro-camera (endoscope) is inserted, allowing him to precisely release the muscles and elevate the tissue from the inside. This means no long scars, zero hair loss, and a rapid recovery.

The Temporal (Lateral) Brow Lift

A focused procedure addressing only the outer third of the brow. Using small incisions hidden in the temporal hairline, it provides a beautiful, sweeping lift to the tail of the brow and the outer corner of the eye, often performed in conjunction with a facelift.

The Coronal Lift

An older, traditional technique involving an incision across the entire top of the head. While rarely used today due to longer recovery and potential hairline shifting, it remains an option for highly specific, severe cases of forehead laxity.

Will a brow lift raise my hairline?

With the modern Endoscopic technique, the hairline shift is extremely minimal (typically 1 to 2 millimeters). If you naturally have a very high forehead, Dr. Gandhi will utilize a specialized 'trichophytic' incision right at the hairline border to physically lower the forehead while lifting the brow.

Will I look constantly surprised?

No. The 'surprised' look occurs when the inner portion of the brow (near the nose) is pulled too high. Dr. Gandhi focuses the lifting vectors on the lateral (outer) tail of the brow, ensuring a serene, youthful, and naturally resting expression.

Are the incisions visible?

Because they are small (less than an inch) and placed entirely within the hair-bearing scalp, the incisions heal invisibly. You can confidently wear your hair pulled back or parted without any signs of surgery.

Phase 1: Hair Preparation

You do not need to cut or shave any hair prior to an endoscopic brow lift. However, if you chemically color your hair, do so at least one week before surgery, as you will not be able to apply harsh hair dyes over the healing incisions for a month.

Phase 2: Medical Clearance

Cease all blood-thinning medications, including aspirin, ibuprofen, and specific herbal supplements, at least two weeks before your procedure to minimize surgical bleeding and post-operative bruising around the eyes.

Phase 3: At-Home Ice Station

Swelling from a brow lift naturally travels downward into the eyelids and cheeks. Prepare a supply of gel ice packs to apply to the eye area immediately upon returning home.

The First 72 Hours

Your forehead will be wrapped, and you may have a small drain placed overnight. You will experience a dull headache and a feeling of tightness. You must sleep with your head elevated on two to three pillows to force the swelling to drain away from the face.

Days 4 to 10

Swelling and bruising will peak and may pool around the eyes (looking like mild 'black eyes'); this is entirely normal and gravity-dependent. Tiny staples or sutures hidden in the scalp are removed painlessly at day 7. You may gently wash your hair with baby shampoo.

Weeks 2 to 3 (Social Return)

Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and social environments by day 10 to 14. Numbness in the forehead and scalp is completely expected and will slowly resolve over several months as the sensory nerve pathways regenerate.
